Overview

This one hour webinar provides a comprehensive introduction to mental health awareness. The online session explores topics, such as: 

  • Factors that influence our mental health.
  • Being aware of changes in someone’s wellbeing.
  • How to start a supportive conversation about mental health.
  • The importance of protecting our own wellbeing. 

The webinar concludes with a dedicated Q&A session. If you are on a journey to make mental health a priority and want to expand or refresh your knowledge of how to better support yourself and others, this online session is made for you.

Aim & learning outcomes

This introductory-level session aims to raise awareness about mental health and mental ill health, encourage supportive conversations and highlight the importance of early intervention for someone who is experiencing poor mental wellbeing. By the end of this online session, you will be able to:

  1. Discuss the fluidity of mental health and the factors that influence it.
  2. Identify the signs that indicate that you or someone you know may be experiencing poor mental wellbeing.
  3. Initiate a supportive conversation about mental health.
  4. Recognise the importance of signposting and of self-care. 

More about Ceri 

Ceri Hodgkiss is the Training Manager at MIND West Kent. Ceri is passionate about educating and empowering people to protect and support their own and others’ mental wellbeing. Having experienced first-hand the stigma attached to mental ill health, she works to encourage genuine cultural change in organisations, normalising attitudes, and ensuring that mental health is valued equally with physical health.

An accredited Mental Health First Aid instructor, Ceri is adept at creating a safe, engaging and supportive learning environment in which to discuss topics ranging from spotting the signs of poor mental wellbeing in ourselves and others, to suicide awareness and prevention.
