Overview

Reflective practice provides us with an opportunity to reflect on those moments that have either gone well, or (more commonly), not so well and apply a structured and constructive approach to exploring these experiences in order to learn from them.

This webinar will look at why sleep consultants, and other allied professionals working with children and families, should spend time reflecting on practice. We'll then examine some models of reflection and explore how to use them. This session will involve taught content with dedicated time for Q&A.

Aim & learning outcomes

The aim of the online session is to review the advantages of reflective practice and explore a range of models for helping us to reflect and learn from past experience. By the end of this online session, you will be able to:

  1. Describe what is meant by reflective practice.
  2. Identify the advantages of reflective practice.
  3. Review models that support reflection in practice.

More about Gemma

Gemma had a successful career in medical education, healthcare and teaching for 20+ years and retrained as a sleep specialist when she became obsessed with her own little one's sleep. Post certification Gemma became frustrated with the lack of regulation, industry awareness and commitment to CPD. So, The Child Sleep Society was born to give access to high quality learning opportunities for sleep consultants who value ongoing education and want to be the best they can be. Gemma is also a proud mum to her two children, Elodie and Charlie.
